Blood sample automation

Blood sample automation is quickly becoming an essential logistics solution in modern hospital environments. Improved efficiency is essential to everyday hospital operations; this includes reducing the turnaround time (TAT) of blood sample results.

Many hospitals use TAT as a measure of process efficiency, often with goals and objectives. To improve the overall turn-around-time from drawing the blood sample at the point of care to the analysis result is given to the doctors – the entire process must be evaluated.

Optimizing transportation of blood samples

Laboratory automation is one methodology to improve the efficiency of blood sample analysis processes. However, the entire process, from sample collection to result delivery, should be considered. The greatest challenge to a comprehensive automated system lies in the coordination of the many elements in the procedure, to ensure that all steps are optimized, rather than just a few aspects.

An automated sample transport system can send blood samples directly from the point of care to the existing laboratory equipment, including track systems, sorters, or bulk loaders. The Tempus600 provides an automatic transport method for blood samples, from point of care to the laboratory. This results in a crucial reduction of the Total Turnaround Time (ToTAT). 

One-touch system

This dedicated, one-touch system, transports blood samples from point to point. Sending the samples is easy: at point of care, the blood samples are easily placed in the Tempus600 sending station which sends the sample tubes through a narrow transportation line (diameter 25mm) using pneumatic air, directly to the laboratory. Fast, safe, and reliable.

The combination of 25 mm pneumatic logistical systems and automated laboratory equipment will significantly decrease the blood sample transportation time and, hence, increase all the positive variables and aims of an automated lab. Operating cost reduces, the risks of error due to human intervention decreases, and the ability to provide higher quality data grows.

With no additional handling, it does not impact the blood values, is very simple to use, and easy to install within existing hospital structures. This invention is not only saving time it also gives you the best ToTAT. We call it the ToTAT Solution!
