The central laboratory at HNFC processes around 2,000 samples daily, including 600 haematology samples. Manual transport between reception and the analyser slowed workflows and delayed results. The hospital sought a faster, automated solution to improve efficiency and turnaround time.

Solution

In 2024, HNFC installed a Tempus600^® system connected directly to a new haematology analyser. The sending station, placed beside the sorting table, now transfers samples automatically to the analyser’s bulk loader 15 metres away - eliminating manual handling.

• Total turnaround time (ToTAT) cut from 120 to 75 minutes during peak hours
• Immediate results available in the afternoon for samples not requiring microscopy
